The weather is glorious, late spring produce is thriving, and there’s plenty to celebrate in the Baltimore food scene this week. Here’s a look at what’s on tap:

The Baltimore Business Journal reports that The Prime Rib’s planned move to Cross Keys is off. The restaurant will remain, for now, in its Mount Vernon location, where it has been a dining destination for decades.

On Saturday, the first ever Baltimore by Baltimore festival will take over the Inner Harbor Amphitheater. The free festival will feature local music and makers, as well as food from several Baltimore organizations, including Flair Cuisine, Boss Burger Food Truck, Sweet Kam, 3 Jay’s Seafood & Chicken and Bar Movement.

Also on Saturday, Charles Street welcomes back the Charles Street Promenade, a day-long event when North Charles Street (between Saratoga Street and Lafayette Avenue) becomes a pedestrian thoroughfare. Those blocks of the road will be closed to vehicles and shops and restaurants will operate both inside their locations and outdoors.

Charles Street is filled with tons of great spots to dine, including longtime favorites like The Helmand, Sotto Sopra, and Maris Louis Bistro and relative newcomers, like Allora and Darker than Blue.

The Queen’s Jubilee Tea

On Sunday, The Elkridge Furnace Inn will celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with a special four-course tea. The menu includes all things Brit, from scones with clotted cream and jam to a port and stilton sausage roll.

Chesapeake Farm to Table, the web series created by Gertrude’s John Shields in partnership with the Harford County Public Library, is back for its third season starting on June 8. The first episode features Johns Hopkins’ Alicia Wilson; she and Shields will discuss how sharing meals brings people together and helps create community, while preparing dishes including African-inspired sweet potato and peanut soup and crabby deviled eggs.

Drag queen, actor and activist Nina West has teamed up with the crew from The Charmery to create a custom flavor, Nina’s Snack Attack, to celebrate the premiere of “Hairspray” at the Hippodrome (and Pride month).

The flavor, which includes chocolate potato chips, chocolate covered pretzels and Oreos in a vanilla ice cream base, will be available starting June 10 and a sundae version of the flavor will be available all month. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the flavor will be donated to Pride Center of Maryland.

Strawberries are great right now, so keep your eye out for sweet strawberries on local menus.

At Foraged Eatery, the strawberry haul comes from Shaw Orchards and the berries might be used in lots of different ways.

The Corner Pantry is showcasing its Moon Valley Farm strawberries on a special toast on milk bread, with burrata and basil.

At True Chesapeake Oyster Co., the strawberries arrive on top of (and in) strawberry, basil and chevre semifreddo made with FireFly Farms cheese.

JBGB’s in Remington uses both roasted and fresh Maryland strawberries for an olive oil sponge cake roulade filled with berries and toasted fig leaf diplomat cream.
