IFSEC Global will lead readers to learn about the latest product releases and updates that entered the security market in October. This month, we will introduce the latest biometric access control, video analysis solutions for object and vehicle identification purposes, new VMS integration and more!

Access control manufacturer Suprema has added fingerprint authentication to its recently launched X-Station access control terminal.

X-Station 2 is described as the "next-generation multi-functional intelligent terminal", which supports multiple authentication methods from mobile access cards to RFID cards, QR codes and barcodes. The latest version is equipped with a fingerprint recognition module to provide customers with more choices. Other features include preventing fraud by using a built-in camera for authentication photos, a 4-inch touch screen, and storage and processing for up to 500,000 users.

Suprema CEO Hanchul Kim said: “As COVID-19 has increased the demand for smartphone-based non-face-to-face solutions, we have received positive reviews after the initial launch of the X-Station 2 mobile access authentication terminal.” “New launch The X-Station 2 fingerprint model of X-Station provides a variety of contactless authentication options for customers using existing biometric information. They can now enjoy the same level of security while providing users with the convenience and peace of mind of mobile access ."

Simplified cloud credential management authorization

Vanderbilt International's cloud-based credential management platform VCredential adds Bluetooth credential function.

VCredential was originally launched in September 2020 to respond to the growth trend of virtualization, the market's shift to contactless access control, and the ever-changing security threats. The main feature of the new version is that it simplifies the authorization process and allows customers to use Bluetooth credentials independently of the access control platform.

The process has been simplified into a two-step procedure-the administrator sends the user an email invitation with instructions for downloading the VI Mobile ID application and a 6-digit alphanumeric activation code. The end user downloads the application and enters the activation code, and the voucher can be used.

VCredential is a one-time license purchase, not a subscription-based model. Thanks to the additional integration features, administrators can now create and manage Bluetooth credentials directly in the ACTpro and SiPass integrated system for easier management and better control. At the same time, the integration with ACTpro reduces the workload of the operator by automatically issuing Bluetooth credentials to the cardholder in the ACTpro software. It also enables customers to manage credential distribution through this single interface.

Police, traffic authorities, and road planners are now able to use artificial intelligence technology to recognize the make, model, and color of vehicles, and to read license plates.

Wisenet Road AI's edge-based solution runs on selected Wisenet P-series 4K cameras, using AI video analysis to identify more than 600 car models manufactured by 70 brands. It combines automatic license plate recognition with brand, model, and color recognition technology to provide local authorities and law enforcement agencies with data that can be used to accurately identify vehicles that violate traffic regulations.

Hanwha Techwin stated that the ability to search for vehicles by make, model, and color may help investigative teams when looking for videos of vehicles involved in accidents. Similarly, criminals often exchange vehicle license plates to avoid ANPR recognition, and police can use brand, model, and color search criteria to cross-reference reports of stolen vehicles.

Wisenet WAVE, Wisenet SSM and other video management systems from software developers such as Genetec and Milestone support smart search functions.

Integrated and smart security solutions provider 3xLOGIC announced the launch of the Automatic License Plate Recognition (ANPR) utility as part of its VIGIL product suite. It is designed as a cost-effective solution for a wide range of applications, in which post-mortem investigations require precise imaging to identify license plates.

The VX-5M20-B-RIAL camera is equipped with a 6-50mm zoom lens and firmware dedicated to license plate imaging. It has a visible light filtering function. The manufacturer said it can provide enhanced license plate capture accuracy, as well as motion detection and remote focus. Its IK10-class enclosure is easy to install, is vandal-proof and provides protection from elements.

The camera and ANPR utility can be seamlessly integrated into the VIGIL video management system. It enables users to quickly search and locate license plates of interest, export license plate data to custom external destinations for viewing, and organize information from multiple cameras on multiple servers.

The Bluetooth ProSeries extended shackle padlock has a 62 mm wide zinc lock body with a complete rubber buffer to provide durability and safety when used outdoors. The shackle with 9 mm diameter and 70 mm height is made of boron alloy and is resistant to cutting and sawing. In addition, its weatherproof cover can enhance weather resistance against snow, rain and extreme temperatures.

This padlock combines Master Lock Vault Enterprise iOS and Android applications and web interface, designed for business applications that use many locks and users. This means that there is no loss of keys or forgetting combinations, and there is no risk of unauthorized key duplication. The padlock can be opened using the Vault enterprise application, or you can use the 10-digit keyboard to manually enter the password. Users can be granted access rights by selecting a specific time and date window, and access rights can be shared with others temporarily and permanently.

The padlock is equipped with a CR123A battery, which can be used for three years, and generates low battery notifications and reminders on the padlock and apps.

Axis Communications' ARTPEC-8 SoC (System on Chip) aims to create new opportunities for edge deep learning-based analytics applications, and is specifically designed for network video.

According to the company, its features include superior imaging, enhanced security, and powerful compression. It stated that the fact that ARTPEC-8 was internally designed gives it a level of control that is critical to network security.

The first batch of cameras to include this chip include the upcoming Q3536-LVE/38-LVE dome camera and Q1656-LE box camera. Over time, the new chip will become the basis for most Axis network video products.

ARTPEC-8 supports analysis applications based on edge deep learning, in which the camera has the ability to analyze the internal data of the camera. One example is highly detailed real-time object detection and classification, which makes it possible to develop analyses that can distinguish different types of objects (such as vehicle types). It also opens the door to other deep learning-based analyses, providing actionable insights for safety, security, and operational purposes. These other analytical applications will include tailor-made applications from Axis partners.

TDSi announced that its GARDiS access management software now supports full integration with HikVision's face recognition terminal and ANPR camera.

The new Wisenet P series AI NVR launched by Hanwha Techwin can apply AI metadata to images taken by most non-AI Wisenet cameras, allowing users to quickly and accurately search for people and vehicles.

License-free deep learning AI video analytics on NVRs that meet the NDAA standard provides a wide range of search criteria, including people of a specific age group or gender, and whether they wear glasses or bags. Similarly, you can narrow the vehicle search to vehicles of a specific color, and whether they are bicycles, buses, cars, motorcycles, or trucks.

Selected bullet, fixed, PTZ, 360° fisheye, multi-directional and thermal imaging cameras from Wisenet X, P, Q and T series are among the cameras supported by the new NVR. Users can take advantage of UX 2.0, which is a brand new user interface that provides zoom in/out and drag-and-drop support and timeline preview functions, as well as allowing editing of all event settings in a single window.

Johnson Controls has launched Tyco Illustra Pro Gen4 2MP, 4MP and 8MP edge AI mini dome cameras, which are part of a growing series of IP cameras, focusing on providing AI classification, customizable rules and accurate event notifications at the edge.

As artificial intelligence improves the speed and accuracy of forensic searches, the new scope allows users to respond to incidents more quickly. Events can be narrowed down to categories such as people, cars, buses, motorcycles, or bicycles, and settings can be adjusted using various analysis rules that notify users when people or objects are detected—for example, if someone crosses a border or wanders in a restricted area around.

The Illustra Pro Gen4 camera has an integrated groove installation, QR code, Illustra mobile application configuration and application configuration file, which can automatically adjust the camera settings according to the selected configuration file, which is easy to install and use. Intelligent wide dynamic range and other functions can automatically scan the video scene and adjust the contrast and overall scene balance-without operator intervention or maintenance-the new intelligent defogging function can continue to accurately monitor even in severe weather conditions.

The day/night camera function and built-in infrared illumination ensure that clear and sharp images are taken from 50 meters away, regardless of lighting conditions. These cameras also have end-to-end video encryption and edge SD card encryption from the camera to the VMS, and are designed so that they will not start if the software is tampered with in any way.
