Millions of Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, but some of our four-legged friends at the Humane Society of West Alabama had a quick start this week at the annual feast.

Dogs living in HSWA kennels are looking for a permanent home, but this does not mean that they will not be spoiled from time to time.

Kenneth Robinson and Paula Burmood are also responsible for caring for the canines in the house they call home. Last year, they decided to prepare a dog-friendly Thanksgiving meal for puppies sharing their home. So successful, they did it again this year.

"We are doing a natural thing for dogs today," Robinson said. "We want to cook all the things they can eat that are good for their health, so we fixed brown rice, a roasted turkey and sweet potatoes without seasoning, which is very helpful for the dog's digestive system."

In the South, cornbread is also a must on the menu.

So, prepare the plates one by one and pass them out. But none of the dinner guests were more excited than Shimmy, who was appropriately named, and she couldn't restrain her excitement.

HSWA board member Tina Miller (Tina Miller) said that as long as it does not contain any harmful ingredients, such as onions or grapes, it is possible to provide pets with food in an appropriate manner.

"They want to do everything, and they only choose dog-friendly food," Miller said. "This is the best fun, and the dog likes it very much."

If the Thanksgiving dinner is an Olympic event, then the cubs will leave with gold medals. In fact, some people worry that they will not stay on food.

"We are actually worried that some dogs will also eat plates because there is still an odor on the plates," Miller said. "So, we are thankful that they didn't eat all the plates."

Therefore, Freddie, Dara, Emma, Josie, Lucky, Shimi, Libby, Lucas and Daisy had a happy Thanksgiving. The only thing better is if they spend the next one in their forever home.

"We always say'adopt, don't shop'," Miller said. "If you are considering a new pet, please consider adopting it."
