Impex Fitness recalled OBB-20 Olympic dumbbell handles sold in Dick's Sporting Goods stores nationwide.

Impex Fitness recalled the dumbbell handle because the locking collar may fail and cause weight loss and possibly harm the user.

The OBB-20 Olympic dumbbell handles will be sold in Dick's Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online from July 2015 to July 2021, and the price is approximately US$50.

Approximately 77,200 handles were sold. They are used with Olympic size weight plates. Each handle comes with two locked black collars.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s announcement, “the lock ring on the dumbbell handle will slide, and heavy objects will fall when perpendicular to the floor, posing a risk of impact and injury.”

Those who purchase the handle can get a set of replacement collars for free. The replacement collar will be mailed to consumers free of charge.

For more information, please call Impex Fitness at 800-999-8899 between noon and 8 pm on weekdays, or visit the website and click "Recall" at the top of the page.
